On 20 December 2021, the award declaration and prize giving ceremony of the "IAB Gold Medal and IAB Awards 2020" was held at the premises of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). Freedom Fighter Ar. Yeafesh Osman, the Hon'ble Minister of Science and Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ar. Yeafesh Osman was the founder General Secretary of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). Ar. Mubasshar Hussain, President, IAB gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

Ar. Bashirul Haq posthumously awarded the IAB Gold Medal 2020 at the ceremony. 02 awards, 01 honorary mention & 12 commendations were declared in a total of 12 different categories. The chief guest and the IAB president presented the prizes among the winners.

In his speech, the Hon'ble Minister congratulated all the winners and called upon the architects to devote themselves to the service of the country and the nation.

Mr. Budhaditya Mukherjee, General Manager, Asian Paints Bangladesh Limited, the sponsor of the award giving ceremony; delivered his speech of gratitude.

The ceremony was formally concluded with a vote of thanks by the General Secretary of IAB, Ar. Farhana Sharmin Emu.
