Celebrating World Habitat Day with a Rally
On the occasion of World Habitat Day, as designated by the United Nations, we joined hands with the National Housing Authority to organize an inspiring rally. This event, held on the first Monday of October each year, is a moment for us to reflect upon the state of our towns and cities.
The rally began at 8:00 AM from Central Shaheed Minar and concluded at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium, drawing a crowd of passionate participants. Notably, members of the Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB) played an active role in this important event.
We were honored to have the Honourable State Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Mr. Sharif Ahmed MP, as our Chief Guest. His presence added great significance to our cause. Alongside him, Mr. Kazi Washi Uddin, the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, graced us as the Special Guest.
We were also delighted to witness enthusiastic participation from esteemed institutions like the Department of Architecture of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI), Urban Development Directorate, and many more.
Together, we marched, united in our commitment to creating better, more sustainable habitats for all.
