সম্প্রতি ১৯ জানুয়ারি ২০২৩ বাস্থই চট্টগ্রাম চ্যাপ্টারের ১১তম কমিটির শপথ গ্রহণ ও সদ্য সাবেক সভাপতি প্রয়াত স্থপতি মোবাশ্বের হোসেন এর মৃত্যুতে স্মরণসভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

গত ১৯-২০ জানুয়ারি নেপালের কাঠমন্ডুতে হোটেল রেডিসনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় সোসাইটি অব নেপালিজ আর্কিটেক্টস (SONA) এর স্থাপত্য কনভেনশন ২০২৩।

খ্যাতিমান স্থপতি বালকৃষ্ণ দোশী (২৬শে আগস্ট ১৯২৭-২৪ জানুয়ারি ২০২৩) ৯৫ বছর বয়সে তাঁর শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। তিনি ভারতীয় তথা বিশ্ব স্থাপত্যের একজন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ব্যক্তিত্ব হিসাবে বিবেচিত।

বাংলাদেশ স্থপতি ইনস্টিটিউটের নবনির্বাচিত ২৫তম নির্বাহী পরিষদের প্রথম নির্বাহী সভা ১০ জানুয়ারি ২০২৩ তারিখে বাস্থই কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন স্থপতি অধ্যাপক ড. খন্দকার সাব্বির আহমেদ।

গত ৪ জানুয়ারি ২০২৩ তারিখে প্রয়াত স্থপতি মোবাশ্বের হোসেন এর অভিপ্রায় অনুযায়ী তাঁর দেহাবশেষ বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অ্যানাটমি বিভাগকে হস্তান্তর করা হয়।

A five member IAB delegation team visited the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University at his office on 15 February 2021 as part of the drive to save the DU TSC building.

Bangladesh Projects on 2019 Shortlist for Aga Khan Award for Architecture

Dhaka, Bangladesh, 25 April 2019 – Two architectural projects in Bangladesh, the Arcadia Education structure in South Kanarchor, and the Amber Denim Loom Shed, in Ghazipur, have been shortlisted for the 2019 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The announcement was made by Farrokh Derakhshani, Director of the Award, in a ceremony in Kazan, Russia, today.

Institute of Architects Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Build Bangladesh on 24 April 2019 to organize an open architectural design competition for Affordable Housing for Lower Middle Income Group. Ar. Jalal Ahmed, President, IAB and Ar-Planner Farhadur Reza Probal, President, Build Bangladesh signed on behalf of their organisations.

IAB New Members Induction Ceremony and Certificate Distribution Ceremony to the IAB Registered Architectural Practices was held on 29 September 2018 at the IAB Centre.

IAB Fellow Ar. Chowdhury Mushtaq Ahmed (A-011) advisor of the Department of Architecture, Leading University, Sylhet breathed his last on Friday 21 Sept 2018 at Dhaka due to a brain stroke. For the last few months he was suffering from kidney and heart related complications.

IAB General Secretary Ar. Qazi M Arif has been elected as the CHAIRMAN, ARCASIA Fellowship Committee (2019-20) in the 39th. Council Meeting held in Tokyo on 11-12 September 2018.
